Tyler Consolidated's baseball team saw its three game win streak come to and end April 21 as the team lost a twin bill to host Ravenswood, 17-7 and 14-2.

The Knights got on the board first in game one and took a 1-0 lead, but in the bottom of the second, the tide turned when Ravenswood brought two runners across for the lead.

The Silver Knights got things going in the top of the fifth, scoring five runs to retake the lead at 7-4, but the Red Devils came back in the bottom of the inning with a strong performance of their own - scoring eight runs to go up 12-7. The Knights failed to score in the sixth, while Ravenswood tacked on five more runs to get the six inning win.

Game two belonged to the Red Devils as they took a 3-0 lead after one and built it to 10-0 after the third. The Knights managed a run in the top of the third, but it was too little too late as Ravenswood tacked on four more in the fourth for a 14-1 lead. Tyler scored in the top of the fifth to get run number two, but the mercy rule came in to play and the Knights left on the short end of a 14-2 loss.

Luke Daugherty suffered the loss for the Silver Knights, throwing all four innings. Tyler West went 2-3 from the plate and knocked in a run.

Knights Destroy Crusaders

The Silver Knights of Tyler Consolidated used a strong first inning to score eight runs, en route to an 11-1 five inning mercy-rule game over outmanned Parkersburg Catholic. The baseball action happened April 20 in Parkersburg.

Kyle Mason and Dylan Roberts both walked to start the game and each stole a base to put runners at second and third with Tyler West at the plate and nobody out. West lined a single that brought in both runners and the rout was on.

Luke Daugherty, Gage Huffman and Dylan Seckman each walked to load the bases and bring West in before Noah Smith grounded out to second, scoring Daugherty for a 4-0 lead and one out.

Jake Rice then struck out before Rine walked; Mason doubled in two runs, and Roberts doubled for two more RBIs. West then flyer out to left for an out, ending the top of the first inning.

Catholic got a run in the bottom of the inning for their only run; the Silver Knights plated two more in the third and one in the fourth to wrap it up as the Crusaders failed to make a run.

Tyler collected seven hits on the night, compared to the Crusaders' three. West picked up the W for the Knights with a complete game three hitter while walking one and striking out eight batters.
