Olive Branch Plans Pedal For Paws

The Olive Branch Animal Rescue and Refuge is planning a special "Pedal for Paws" event, slated for May 5. The event is a 6.5 mile bike/walk, and proceeds will go toward the purchase of food and medical supplies for the Olive Branch Animal Rescue and Refuge.

Registration begins at 8 a.m., May 5, and the start time for the event is set for 9 a.m. Registration will be at the Sistersville City Building, located at 200 Diamond Street.

The start of the course will be at the Union Bank on Wells Street in Sistersville. Participants will then cross over onto Old Route 18 and travel three miles to New Route 18, then head back to Route 2. The course will finish on Wells Street at the Olive Branch and Friends Shop. The course is described as paved roads, hilly, and main traffic areas.

Awards and acknowledgements will be given to participants.

Cost of registration is $20, and a t-shirt will be provided.

Deadline for $20 registration is April 22. After April 22, the cost will raise to $25 and no t-shirt will be furnished.

Registration forms can be picked up at the following locations: Olive Branch and Friends shop, Sistersville Emporium, Sistersville IGA, Boggs Restaurant, Witschey's in Middlebourne, Convenient Store in Paden City, Witschey's and Ace Hardware in New Martinsville, and The Galaxy in St. Marys.

Spaces are reserved on the t-shirt to honor pets that have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. A $100 gift will memorialize one's fur baby on the t-shirt. For more information on this, call 304-652-2722.
