Tyler Star News

Amanda Reynolds of Tyler Consolidated has begun her senior season by signing a letter of intent to continue her basketball career at Bethany College under Coach Brian Sansom.

"What a perfect way to open up your senior season. Signing with Bethany and having a solid performance in our first scrimmage".

Reynolds, her family, Ohio Valley Dragons travel club coaches (Brett Cowdery and Kevin Mayle) and Tyler Consolidated Head Coach, Cathy Boggs gathered pre-game to mark the special occasion. Reynolds posted another solid performance in her first scrimmage finishing 5-11 from the field, 12 steals, 2 blocks and 3 assists.

"I have had the privilege of knowing Amanda since she was a student in my 4th grade classroom. When the girls asked me to come watch one of their youth league games, I was stunned. Reynolds, who was extremely quiet and serious in the classroom, was a force on the court".

And with a lot of hard work and determination, she has continued to be a force on the court ever since. Reynolds is a four-year letterman at Tyler Consolidated and a three-year member of the All-LKC team. She has also been named to the All-Valley and All-State squads. She has represented her team at the LKC Night of Champions every year in either the foul-shooting, 3-point shoot-out competitions, or as the team member with the highest GPA. Amanda has a cumulative 4.5 GPA.

"We (the team) are all so excited for Amanda to have this opportunity. The girls have great chemistry this year and we're hoping that we can work to help her have a memorable and stellar senior season."
