W.Va. police in running for best-looking cruiser

July 10, 2014

CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — The West Virginia State Police are in the running for the best-looking cruiser.

WCHS-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1w2ddFM) that the blue cruiser with the gold top is in a nationwide online contest with state police agencies across the country.

State police spokesman Lt. Michael Baylous says cruisers for the state's police agency have had that familiar paint scheme since 1963.

Officials say the winner of the free contest being conducted by the American Association of State Troopers will have its cruiser displayed in the association's newsletter.

Voting continues until July 15 through the association's Facebook page. The agency whose photo has the most "likes" will be the winner.
