Seminole Weekley said she is 'excited' to be Tyler County Fair Queen.

During the this week's fair, this Tyler Consolidated High School senior will attend many events ranging from early morning breakfasts to livestock judging. She will be seen as a leader who welcomes people to this popular fair.

The Tyler County Fair Queen has long been a premier title in pageant competitions. Soon after Brandy Glover-Frye, now a teacher at Tyler Consolidated High School, was crowned as fair queen a few years back, she went onto win pageant success at local and state levels including a spot as a top finalist in the Miss West Virginia USA pageant. And who can forget Melissa Smith, who served as the fair pageant's director this year. Smith, a member of the sisterhood who has competed and wore the Tyler County Fair Queen's crown in 2009, went on to become Mrs. West Virginia U.S.

For a long time, the fair queen has represented the best qualities that Tyler County has to offer.

"I do believe I have big shoes to fill from our previous fair queens," Weekley said.

The new queen is the kind of royalty of which we should all be proud.

Congratulations to Ms. Weekley.
