RIPLEY, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia students are participating in some intensive language training in Ripley.
The West Virginia Department of Education says the week-long West Virginia Spanish Language Immersion Camp at Cedar Lakes Conference Center began Wednesday and runs through July 1.
Two Spanish language students from each West Virginia county will communicate solely in Spanish while immersed in camp activities featuring an interdisciplinary curriculum, special events and recreational activities.
Officials say that West Virginia teachers will be joined by international educators from Colombia, Mexico, Chile, Venezuela and Spain to engage students in Latin American and Spanish activities.
This is the third annual camp supported by state education officials.
