They need you

Tyler Star News

The Shirley Volunteer Fire Department has been making a concerted effort to raise money for the purchase of a tanker truck to replace one damaged beyond repair on Nov. 14.

While raising almost $6,500 is an accomplishment, it is far from the $212,000 needed to buy the new apparatus.

Especially in such a rural area, a tanker truck is a necessity. Often water must be transported via truck to rural locations.

What if that was your home on fire that needed to have trucked water to fight the flames? What if your relative's life could be saved when a fire is quenched from the water from a tanker truck?

If you value your life and the lives of those around you, please make a donation. If you want to see property saved from destruction, please make a donation.

Monetary contributions can be mailed to the Shirley Volunteer Fire Department, 5956 McElroy Creek Road, Alma, WV 26320.
