Dear Editor:

On Tuesday evening Feb. 24, my wife and I had a surprise water leak in our Sistersville home garage/basement area. We called the City Water/ Maintenance Department and in a very short time they responded and the water was turned off. We wish to thank Bob Gilmore and Daniel and Merritt Grimes for their wonderful efforts. We had such cold icy conditions that whole week. I do not think we got above freezing temperatures for two weeks around this time. The maintenance department/city workers have to be out in all types of weather and at all hours of the day and night. We appreciate them.

We had other good local people that helped repair our fractured line and fittings so our main city water line could be turned back on. We saw several Sistersville Maintenance Department workers assisting in this effort. They were very efficient and we have great water pressure for our home again. Debbie and I are so thankful; and grateful for all of those who helped save the day for us at such a cold, snowy time of the year! The Sistersville Maintenance Department and community are to be commended!

Sincerely,

Dr. Kelvin and Debbie Feather
