Tyler Star News

Dear Editor,

In March 1993, Sistersville High School and Tyler County High School joined together to form Tyler Consolidated Middle School and High School. Alumni from these two schools came together to raise money for uniforms for the new school by holding an Alumni Band Concert. The concert raised over $2,000 in one night.

Once again we are looking to hold an Alumni Band Concert on Saturday, February 21. We are asking alumni in the area to come together to help raise money for the Knights Marching Band. The band is in the process of buying new uniforms.

Eighty-six alumni from five states and 10 high schools outside of Tyler County participated in the previous alumni concert. Band members, volunteers, and everyone else involved had a good time and enjoyed the music.

If you would like to have some fun for a good cause and show the youth of the area that music can be fun no matter what the age, call Alumni Band President Martin Parrish at 304-652-4369. You may also contact Vice-President Maggie Fisher at TCHS 304-758-9000, or via e-mail at knightsalumniband@ymail.com.

Thanks for your support,

Martin Parrish and Maggie Fisher
