Board votes to continue leave
The Tyler County Board of Education ratified and continued the existing paid administrative leave of Gina Crawford, a teacher at Sistersville Elementary School, after a nearly hour-long executive session held at the end of their meeting Aug. 18.
The measure was approved on the recommendation of Duane Dober, director of human resources for Tyler County Schools and the delegated authority to act in place of Superintendent Robin Daquilante, Crawford’s mother. The paid leave was accepted by the board on a motion made by Jimmy Wyatt, seconded by Linda Hoover, and affirmed by unanimous vote, pending the outcome of criminal proceedings or for 60 days, whichever comes first. At the end of either stipulation, the suspension will be revisited by the board.
Crawford, who taught fifth grade, was arrested at her residence, 215 Wiley Avenue, Sistersville, on July 25 for the felony offense of possession with/intent to deliver a controlled substance, marijuana.
