Memorial Day ceremonies were held all over the Nation on Monday, paying homage to America's war dead. In Sistersville, the American Legion Post #67 and VFW Post #6327 held the "Missing Man" service at the Veteran's Memorial Park. A wreath was placed at the memorial as well as in the Ohio River to honor America's military and veterans.
The annual Poppy Drive was kicked off by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 67 by introducing the young ladies running for Poppy Queen (see page 5), and three local graduating seniors, Carter Lasik, Curtis Shepherd, and Christina Conner, signing up to be part of America's fighting forces were honored.
The public was invited to go to the American Legion Post for a hot meal after the ceremonies.
