Melissa Smith of Sistersville, will now be competing for a grand title at the Mrs. United States National Pageant, since winning the Mrs. West Virginia United States 2014 title on Feb. 23.
Smith, a 2010 graduate of Tyler Consolidated High School and daughter of Terry and Teresa Jackson of Alma, is married to Joe Smith. The couple have two sons, Erickson and Eli.
She was selected as the 2014 Mrs. West Virginia United States among several contestants at the pageant held at East Fairmont High School.

Smith is involved with Newborns in Need, the Ronald McDonald House and her fundraiser, Crowns for a Cause, to help individuals facing adversity. Her favorite hobbies include attending WVU football games, making memory rag quilts and reading books to her children. She describes herself as genuine, spontaneous, and dedicated individual.
She is attending school at West Virginia University and plans to pursue a career as a 4th grade teacher. She enjoys interior decorating and trying craft ideas that she finds on Pinterest!
She is honored to be participating in the celebration of the Mrs. United States National Pageant, July 20-25 in Las Vegas.

Described as "the premier event of its kind" by The Las Vegas Sun newspaper, the Mrs. United States National Pageant is a spectacular event.
Since 1986, the Mrs. United States National Pageant has assembled annually in Las Vegas Nevada to celebrate the achievements of married women.
