Weekley, Tome wed August 9

Gretchen Weekley and Todd Tome were united in marriage on Aug. 9 at 4 p.m. at the Fairmount Park gazebo in Philadelphia.

The wedding date was selected in memory of Edith Tome, mother of the groom.

The Honorable Michael A. Nutter, mayor of Philadelphia, served as officiate for the double ring ceremony.

A scripture reading, "The Marriage Covenant" was given by Best Man Michael Woody. "You're Still the One" by Shania Twain was sung by Bridesmaid Marsha Woody during the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Gary and Frances Weekley of Friendly and the granddaughter of Hilda Wright of Middlebourne, the late Glenn Wright Sr., and the late Emery and Doris Weekley.

The groom is the son of the late Edith Tome and the grandson of the late Charles and Catherine Tome.

Escorted down the aisle by her parents, the bride wore a white chiffon spaghetti strap V-neck high-low wedding dress. Bridal attendants were Maid of Honor Alisha Roberts of York, Pa., daughter of the bride, and bridesmaids, Marsha and Jennifer Woody of Deptford, N.J., friends of the bride and groom. All were attired in burgundy tea-length dresses and sandals.

Michael Woody of Deptford, N.J., friend of the bride and groom, served as Best Man. Groomsmen included Charles Tome of Philadelphia, son of the groom, and Brendan Molander of Philadelphia, friend of the groom.

The groom and his groomsmen were attired in gray and burgundy.

The couple's marquise diamond wedding bands were custom-designed and manufactured by MDC Diamonds, Fifth Avenue, New York City. Floral arrangements consisting of burgundy and white starfighter lilies and black bacarra roses were provided by Kremp Florist, Willow Grove, Pa. With the wedding theme "Philly Love", the cake was decorated with the Philadelphia skyline and Love Park sign topper made by the historic Bredenbecks Bakery, Chestnut Hill, Pa. Ceremony music was arranged by Pamela Valentino, events coordinator of the Water Works Restaurant and Lounge.

Photography was provided by Josh Wagner and Kaitlin Meola, both of Philadelphia.

Transportation was provided by Bella Limousine, Elmer, NJ. Hair and makeup was provided by Eboni Morales of JBI Intoxicating Beauty Team, Wilmington, Del., and nail care was provided by Vanessa Nguyen of Pro Nails, York, Pa.

The formal reception was held in the Breezeway Room at the Water Works Restaurant and Lounge in Philadelphia.

Following a honeymoon at the Wynn Resorts Las Vegas, the couple will continue to reside in York, Pa.
