Coach Brent Croasmun - Craig Allen

An experienced, senior led Beallsville team traveled to Paden City on Sept. 13 to take on the Wildcats at Berger Field, taking the win 36-14.

“They had four senior lineman who knew what they were doing,” said head coach of the Wildcats, Brent Croasmun. “They were smart, fundamentally sound football players who outplayed us.”

“We played well in the first half and our kids gave a good effort.”

The Blue Devils struck pay dirt first with 9:16 to go in the game as the Blue made good on a 16 yard pass, but Paden City blocked the extra point. Within the next minute the Blue Devils’ Palmer recovered a Wildcat fumble and took it in 15 yards for six points.

Paden City’s first score of the game came on a Brandon Cross 56 yard interception return with 2:11 to play in the first period. Quarterback Zach Heasley found Luke Cooper in the end zone to connect on the two point pass-conversion to put the score at 12-8 after one.

Offensively, junior Brandon Cross had 11 carries in the game for 23 yards; Kane Pyles rushed four times for 15 yards; and Devon Price ran the ball once to collect eight yards.

Junior quarterback Zach Heasley completed eight of 16 passes for 66 yards. He was intercepted once and threw one touchdown pass.
