Greene will reign at O&G Festival

The 44th Annual Oil and Gas Festival sponsored their annual Queen's pageant on Aug. 11 at Sistersville Elementary School with a nice crowd in attendance at the popular event.

Ten young ladies were in competition for the the title, including: Katelyn Cottrell, Payton Whitt, Allie Cole, Taylor Clem, Adrianna Lindsay, Trorie Atkinson, Nichole Greene, Alexandra Hinton, Taylor Pickens, and Morgan Kesecher.

Oil and Gas Festival Queen, 2006, Kristina Snider was the emcee for the event, and Mrs. Jack White was the pageant chairman.

Contestants competed in both street and evening wear and were interviewed on stage by Snider.

Nichole Greene, of Cross Lanes, WV was selected to reign as this years queen, receiving a cash award, plaque, sash and many more gifts. She was crowned by the 2011 West Virginia Oil and Gas Festival Queen, Marlee Sexton.

Gifts, prizes and gift basket items were supplied by: Elizabeth Michaels, J.T. and Associates, Chris Schenerlein, Lee's Merle Norman and Day Spa, Floral Expressions, Dudley's Florist, Phillip's Pharmacy, Reliable Supply, PRetty Nails, Oviverio's, the Fort, Sistersville Dollar Store, Carolyn's Touch of Difference, J & J Personal Touch, Buttermores, Horner & Harrison, The Crowning Touch, and The Style Center.

The queen's pageant committee and the board of directors extend their appreciation to all who helped make this years pageant the success it was and invite everyone back to Sistersville Sept. 13-15 for the 44th annual West Virginia Oil and Gas Festival.

Greene will represent the Oil and Gas Festivall at the Fairs and Festivals Convention in Charleston in January.
