Tyler Consolidated and Paden City High School cheerleading squads will compete in the 21st OVAC Cheering Competition on Feb. 4 at the WesBanco Arena in Wheeling.
There will be five divisions this year and the competition will begin at 10 a.m. with doors opening to the public at 9 a.m.
The following schools will compete in the order as listed: class A - Bishop Donahue, Madonna, Paden City, Conotton Valley and St. Johns; class AA - Catholic Central, Shadyside, Toronto, Linsly and Wheeling Central; class AAA - Martins Ferry, Magnolia, Barnesville, Tyler Consolidated, Bellaire, Bridgeport, Monroe Central and Shenandoah; class AAAA - Harrison Central, Union Local, Weir, Oak Glen, St Clairsville, Buckeye Local and Edison; class AAAAA - John Marshall, Parkersburg South, Beaver Local, Brooke and Wheeling Park.
Each school will perform a three minute open routine that may include cheer, dance and tumbling. The morning session will inlude classes A, AA and AAA followed by awards. The afternoon session of the larger classes will begin at approximately 1:45 p.m. and conclude with awards at approximately 3:30 p.m..
The following 2011 Jr. OVAC Championship squads will perform throughout the day: small middle school champion Tyler Consolidated Middle School; medium middle school champions; Union Local Middle School; large middle school champion: Triadelphia Middle School; and junior varsity champion Wheeling Park High School junior varsity.
Tickets are available at Wesbanco Arena at $6 for adults and $4 for students.
