Tyler Consolidated and Paden City High School boys varsity basketball teams have seen some tough luck lately while looking for wins. The teams' continue to work toward their end of season goals, grabbing wins sporadically along the way.

The Maroon outscored the Silver from the get-go, posting 19 points in the first period while holding the visitors to six, and leading by 29 points at the half, 42-13. The send half turned out to be just as difficult for Consolidated, who wound up on the short end of the score, 74-31 at the buzzer.

Darren Heintzman and Christian Ice scored nine points apiece to lead all Knight scorers in the game. Heintzman pulled down seven boards and had one assist. Evan Cline scored six points and had four rebounds; Dylan Romine added three points, pulled down 12 rebounds and had one assist; Cole Kocher, two points, five rebounds, two assists; Dylan Reynolds, two points, one rebound, three assists; Justin Carpenter, four rebounds; Isaiah Casenelli, three rebounds, one steal; Scott Sole, one rebound; and Chase Cornell, three rebounds, one assist, one steal.

The Silver Knights will participate in the Magnolia Region Classic on Jan. 28 in New Martinsville, where every team vying for the eventual Region I Championship can be seen. Paden City's varsity team was unable to get their game in with Harman on Jan. 21, and instead, will host the team on Friday at Bob Burton Gymnasium in the first round of the Hometown Invitational tournament. The 'Cats will host Harman at 6 p.m. and will be followed by the Lady 'Cats taking on East Richland at 7:30 p.m. On Jan. 26, Paden City will head to Williamstown and to Clay Battelle on Jan. 31.
