On Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011, residents in Tyler County and the surrounding area came together to honor the fallen and recognize heroes from our community.
People filled the streets -clad in red, white and blue -to wave flags, clap and show their appreciation. Some stood through the pouring rain to join area pastors in offering prayers and words of gratitude the men and women who protect and serve our community as firefighters, law enforcement officers, EMTs, and paramedics.
The community's presence on the streets of Sistersville Sunday afternoon was an inspiring display of patriotism and hometown pride.
To the "heroes," both professional and volunteer: Thank you for your service. To Rev. Bill Dawson: Thank you for planning such a great event!
