Hopkins remind community of egg hunt

Dear Editor

It's hard to believe that it is "THAT TIME" again isn't it? But, yes, the Easter Egg Hunt is on again for St. Paul's United Methodist Church. We will be hiding the eggs early on Saturday morning and lots and lots of kids will show up for the great hunt.

We usually have 60-70 children eagerly awaiting the signal, "Ok, kids, go get 'em!" Those little kids just go flying around the church lawn and over at the preacher's house to gather in the eggs, so fast, any chicken farmer would hire them in a minute! The children come prepared with their baskets in hand and they have such a great time.

So, my point is, tell your friends and neighbors to bring their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren to the Easter Egg Hunt this year. The "HUNT" will begin at 2 p.m. sharp, Saturday, April 11.

All children 12 and under are welcome to come search for the candy filled eggs. Prizes will be awarded for SPECIAL EGGS that will be strategically placed around the church lawn, and over in the preacher's lawn. It's lots of fun for everyone, including the helpers.

That brings me to the next part of my message: We sure could use your help in the following ways: Candy to put in the eggs, helping to supervise the children the day of the hunt, and, or, donate some neat prizes for the awards. We are going to ask the youth to help fill the eggs again this year. We have a good time doing that, (but I usually have to smack hands when they try to snack on the sweets). Just kidding, guys.

Call Patty Smith at 304-337-2334, the church office at 304-337-9145, or me, Barbara Hopkins at 304-337-8742 or 304-771-1176, if you can help in any way. Come on up and share in the great fellowship on Saturday, April 11, at 2 p.m. Thanks for all you do for the children in our community.

Sincerely

Barbara Hopkins
