WEST LIBERTY, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia Poet Laureate Marc Harshman will be the guest speaker at West Liberty University's spring commencement.

The ceremony is set for 11 a.m. May 10 in the Academic, Sports and Recreation Complex.

The title of Harshman's address is "May You Have a Story to Tell."

Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin named Harshman the state poet laureate in May 2012. The Wheeling resident is the ninth person to hold the title since it was established by the Legislature in 1927.

In addition to his poetry, Harshman has written 11 children's books.
