GARY, W.Va. (AP) — A McDowell County man was in court on charges of stealing water after his service had been disconnected when police arrested him on unrelated burglary charges.
The Bluefield Daily Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/1eMOUZA ) that 38-year-old Gregory Lamont Rushing was charged Friday with five counts of burglary and one count of grand larceny.
Gary Police Chief S.P. McKinney says some residents had suspected Rushing of thefts at their home. McKinney says he told them there was no evidence, and nothing less than photos of the suspect caught in the act could make a case.
According to McKinney, the residents bought a deer camera and installed it at their front door. He says they got pictures of the suspect entering the home five separate times.
Rushing was being held on $25,000 bond.
