CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — West Virginia lawmakers are holding a public hearing this week on the proposed use of federal block grants.

The hearing is set for 2 p.m. Wednesday in the House Finance Committee room at the Capitol.

House Finance Chairman Brent Boggs says the federal funding helps state agencies provide critical services.

Grant funding to be discussed includes preventative health and health services, substance abuse prevention and treatment, community development and workforce investment.
