W.Va. tire store owner vows to rebuild after fire

December 29, 2013
Associated Press

SUMMERSVILLE, W.Va. (AP) — The owner of a Summersville tire store says he'll rebuild following a fire that destroyed the business.

Charlie Toney tells media outlets that he plans to find another building in Summersville to house the business until a new store can be built.

The fire broke out Saturday morning at C. Adam Toney Discount Tires. The building housed about 2,300 tires.

Summersville deputy fire chief Brian Dell says the heat was so intense that firefighters' face shields began to melt when they tried to enter the building.

The West Virginia State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating the fire. The cause hasn't been determined.
