CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Authorities have recovered several brass light fixtures that were taken from the West Virginia Veterans Memorial in Charleston.
Capitol Recycling owner Randy Halstead tells the Charleston Gazette (http://bit.ly/1apemM3 ) that he bought the fixtures from a woman. He learned the fixtures were stolen when a Capitol Police officer came to his store with photos of them.
Halstead says information that he entered about the woman in a national database helped police identify her. The Leads Online database tracks missing and stolen items.
Police charged 32-year-old Amanda Suzanne Young of Charleston with receiving or transferring stolen goods. She's being held at the South Central Regional Jail on $10,000 bond.
