Interviews set to replace retiring Cabell judge

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (AP) — A state commission plans to interview five candidates this week to fill an upcoming judicial vacancy in Cabell County.

Cabell County Circuit Court Judge David Pancake will retire on Jan. 31.

The Judicial Vacancy Advisory Commission will hold closed-door interviews on Tuesday in Charleston.

Commission chairwoman Debra Scudiere tells The Herald-Dispatch ( ) that the candidates include Cabell County prosecutor Chris Chiles and attorneys Cheryl L. Henderson, Ashley M. Lockwood, Robert L. McKinney and Paul A. Ryker.

Scudiere says the commission will recommend two to five candidates to Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin.
