PARKERSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — Parkersburg officials are working to make the city more bicycle-friendly.

Six bicycle trails are either complete or in the planning stages.

City Councilwoman Kim Coram tells the Parkersburg News and Sentinel (http://bit.ly/Hqi68Y ) that bicycle trails aren't just for recreation. They also are for transportation.

Coram says all the trails are a work in progress. The goal is to get them away from roadways.
