WHEELING, W.Va. (AP) — Chesapeake Energy has acquired drilling leases for about 1,500 acres in Ohio County from Chevron.
The Intelligencer and Wheeling-News Register (http://bit.ly/16g9lb1 ) reports that the deal involves 29 parcels ranging from 1 acre to 258 acres.
Chevron took over the most of the leases from AB Resources, NPAR and TriEnergy Holdings in early 2011.
Chesapeake officials declined to comment on the deal.
