QUETTA, Pakistan (AP) — Pakistani military officials say a roadside bomb has killed at least two soldiers who were doing relief work in a remote southwestern region where a major quake killed at least 376 people last week.

The officials say the bomb hit the soldiers' vehicle near Mashkay, a village in the southwestern Baluchistan province. They say the officers were part of troops who were dispatched there after the magnitude 7.7 earthquake rocked the province on September 24.

Three soldiers were also wounded in Wednesday's attack. The officials spoke on condition of anonymity as they were not authorized to speak to media.

Last week, officials in Baluchistan escaped a rocket attack on a helicopter. No one claimed responsibility but suspicion fell of separatists who have been battling the Pakistani military for years.
