MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — The WVU Foundation says it could reach its capital campaign goal 1 1/2 years before its target date.
Foundation President and CEO Wayne King says the foundation has seen roughly $1.4 million more in giving so far this fiscal year.
If that pace holds up, the campaign should raise about $9.1 million through the 2014 fiscal year. That's up from $7.7 million last year.
The Dominion Post reports that King provided a recap of the past fiscal year and early information on the current one during Friday's Board of Governors meeting.
At the end of fiscal year 2013, the Foundation had raised $668 million of the $750 million campaign goal. King said the next public report on progress will be released in October.
