MARTINSBURG, W.Va. (AP) — Authorities have charged a man with kidnapping an 88-year-old West Virginia woman and holding her captive in her own bathroom for nearly a week.

The victim told police that 63-year-old Kent James Crangle is her daughter's boyfriend. The Journal ( says Crangle is charged with conspiracy, kidnapping, robbery and fleeing in a vehicle from an officer.

He was held without bond Monday at the Eastern Regional Jail in Martinsburg on the kidnapping charge, with bond set at $660,000 cash for the other offenses.

His mug shot showed a bruised, swollen face.

It was not immediately clear whether his girlfriend has been charged.

Authorities say Crangle used nearly two dozen aliases, seven birth dates and five Social Security numbers.

The victim says the couple moved into her Martinsburg home in June.
