MORGANTOWN, W.Va. (AP) — A $44.2 million public-private housing complex at West Virginia University is expected to open in the fall of 2014.

WVU said Friday that the 224-unit College Park is being built on about 9.6 acres owned by the university. It will have one-, two-, three-, and four-bedroom apartments, along with laundry facilities and a community center.

College Park is aimed at students at the graduate and professional level, international students, veterans, and students and employees with families.

WVU has a 40-year lease agreement with American Campus Communities for the complex. The school and the company will jointly manage the facility.

College Park will replace unused housing that recently was demolished.
