Another great article from "The Press Box" Many years ago I had the opportunity to run at the State Meet. My head coach was Mr. Bob Burton of Paden City.At the time single A and AA competed together at the State meet. All 4 years of my high school career our relay team placed in the shuttle event, competing in the combined class. The love of the sport itself drew me back to Charleston several years as a spectator. The Bellaire Relays back then was also a national major Relay on the east coast.I was in attendance 12 years in a row after graduation and got to see a few athletes that turned Olympians. Track gets in your blood because it's a team sport but just as much an individual sport as well. Congratulations to all the athletes who made the grade to be in the States Elite.
