William Standiford, Dec. 8, 1929 - May 4, 2008

William Eugene Standiford, age 78, of Virginia Street, New Martinsville, died Sunday, May 4, 2008, at the New Martinsville Health Care Center. He was born December 8, 1929, in New Martinsville, son of the late Carroll and Toy (Rogers) Standiford.

He was a retired operator and foreman of Bayer Chemical Corporation (Mobay), a member of the New Martinsville United Methodist Church, a 50 year member of St. John’s United Methodist Church, and a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sara Standiford Powell.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Ann Davis Standiford; two sons, Thomas (Teresa) Standiford, and Robert (Danielle) Standiford, both of New Martinsville; daughter, Bridgett (Erich) Reger of Huntington; and six grandchildren, Staci and Thomas Standiford of New Martinsville, Ellie and Paige Reger of Huntington, and Trevor and Kiera Standiford of New Martinsville.

Family will receive friends Wednesday, May 7, 2008, from 9 a.m. until time of funeral services at 10:30 a.m. at Grisell Funeral Home and Crematory, 751 Third Street, New Martinsville, with Rev. Michael Atkinson officiating. Interment at Northview Cemetery, New Martinsville.
